The 16th National Conference for Rural and Remote Allied Health is the premier national gathering dedicated to strengthening allied health services in rural and remote Australia.
The 2026 conference invites participants to explore how local identities, cultures, environments, and community knowledge shape the delivery of accessible, culturally safe, and sustainable allied health care across rural and remote regions.
Supporting this conference means investing in a future where all Australians—regardless of where they live—can access high‑quality, locally informed allied health services.

The University Centre for Rural Health Northern Rivers (UCRH) is a vibrant academic hub based in the Northern Rivers of NSW. We believe in health equity for rural communities and work collaboratively to promote health and wellbeing for all people across rural and regional Australia.
As part of the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health, and a key member of the Rural Precinct, we deliver multidisciplinary rural health education in partnership with over 20 universities nationwide. Our programs provide hands-on clinical placements for medical, nursing, midwifery, oral health/dentistry and allied health students, preparing them to meet the needs of rural communities.
We support the rural health workforce through continuing professional development, training, and resources, including our state-of-the-art Simulation Centre and the Northern NSW Regional Training Hub. We also host the WellMob project, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professionals.
Our research spans primary healthcare, workforce development, and environmental health, contributing to national conversations and informing policy. Much of our work is supported by the Commonwealth Government’s Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training program, enabling us to lead in service-based learning and rural health innovation.
UCRH is a trusted partner, a respected educator, and a committed advocate for rural health. We are proud to be part of the Northern Rivers community and to play a role in shaping a healthier future for rural Australia.
